Fields of application of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic medicine that transfers the universal laws of nature to people – whether they are healthy or sick. TCM does not treat individual physical symptoms, but looks at the whole person and starts at the roots of a health problem.

Taking into account all internal and external influencing factors, TCM tries to bring body, mind and soul back into harmony. TCM therapists use various methods such as acupuncture, moxibustion (heat therapy), Tuina massage, cupping or herbal therapy. An important element of the therapy is a coordinated diet and lifestyle.

A wide range of diseases can be treated with the various treatment methods.

This includes:

  • Respiratory diseases
  • cardiovascular diseases
  • Headache migraine

As you can see, traditional Chinese medicine can support many different health concerns with its various treatment methods.

At the beginning of a TCM therapy there is always a detailed anamnesis. The therapist asks extensive questions about the patient’s health, feels the pulse and looks at the tongue. In this way, an accurate diagnosis can be made and the appropriate treatment methods can be selected.

This is followed by treatment using acupuncture, cupping, moxa (heat therapy) and/or Chinese natural remedies.

The course of therapy can also vary depending on the symptoms. Some ailments subside quickly after a few treatments, while chronic ailments usually take longer to subside.
