The first check-up at the pediatrician

After the family has arrived at home, settled in and welcomed the new family member, the first check-up at the pediatrician takes place at the age of 4 weeks. It is helpful for us if you make an appointment with us when you leave the confinement and send us the birth report.

At the Arcus you will be greeted by our friendly practice assistants and fill out the patient registration form before we get to know each other for the first time in a relaxed conversation. During the consultation, parents have the opportunity to ask any questions about their baby. We pediatricians also ask questions about the health of the family and find out how the care is planned.

Together we look at how your child is growing and check your child’s health as part of the physical examination. We administer the 3rd dose of vitamin K in the form of drops and in a separate consultation check the maturity of your child’s hips with the help of an ultrasound device.

Just in case, we’ll talk about how the emergency service of the pediatricians on the left side of Lake Zurich is organized. As a conventional medical practice, we support the recommendation of the Federal Commission for Vaccination (EKIF). If you have any questions about vaccination, we are available and will be happy to advise you on an equal footing.

To start with, we recommend the “Lisa and Daniel” brochure published by Pediatrics Switzerland with tips on medicine cabinets, the most common childhood illnesses and what to do in an emergency. We will give you the brochure at the first consultation. It can be downloaded here in 10 different languages.

We look forward to seeing you, call 044 720 20 12 or send an email to make an appointment praxis@arcus.ch.
