Osteopathy

Release blockades – find balance

Finding causes instead of fighting symptoms: We treat children and adults holistically.

Osteopathy is a holistic manual treatment method. It takes into account that all areas of the body are interdependent and interact functionally. An impairment of the mobility and structure of muscles, joints or ligaments can reduce the functionality of the internal organs and lead to disease.

For this reason, osteopathy focuses on combating the causes rather than the symptoms. Movement restrictions and tensions are identified with the hands and corrected with targeted impulses.

Our services

  • Pregnancy and childbirth

During pregnancy, a woman’s body has to adapt to many new circumstances: posture changes, weight gain makes everyday life more difficult and hormonal changes loosen the ligaments. Limited mobility can lead to back pain or sciatica, but it can also have an inhibiting effect on the mobility of the unborn child and its development.

An osteopathic treatment during pregnancy helps you in a gentle way to restore optimal mobility. In addition to pain relief, we also treat typical complaints such as belching, shortness of breath and shortness of breath as well as premature labour. In addition, optimal mobility of the pelvis promotes an uncomplicated birth. An osteopathic treatment after the birth promotes regeneration and helps the body to find its balance again more quickly.

  • Babies and children

Children are not just «little adults». Development from newborn to teenager is a complex process. Tension patterns can develop in the body during a difficult birth, as a result of a fall or accident, infections or complications already occurring during pregnancy. This can lead to asymmetrical postures, developmental delays or functional disorders such as colic. The child shows discomfort by stretching, crying, or restlessness.

In order for your child to develop in the best possible way, osteopathy does not only treat symptoms. We try to understand and balance the interaction between functional structures and the symptoms that occur.

  • Baby check up

The little ones are particularly important to us. That’s why we offer a free osteopathic check-up for newborns up to 10-12 weeks old. In order to identify asymmetrical postures and functional disorders as early as possible. This is how we counter short-term problems – developmental delays, breastfeeding problems, adjustment difficulties – and prevent long-term consequences: back problems, learning or concentration difficulties, hyperactivity or other behavioral problems.

The check-up is not a treatment. If you opt for osteopathic further treatment, this is subject to a fee and is usually settled via the additional insurance.

If your midwife, or pediatrician recommends osteopathic treatment for medical reasons, it is advisable to book a treatment directly in order not to lose time and help your baby timely.

  • Childbirth preparation

Prenatal osteopathy optimally prepares the pelvis for birth. It creates full mobility and encourages the head to enter the pelvis. The first appointment should take place in the 32nd week of pregnancy. Supplementary insurance usually covers the costs of treatment both to prepare for the birth and to alleviate pregnancy symptoms.

  • Treatment

An anamnesis is taken before each treatment. We then examine the mobility of the spine, joints and organs as well as the elasticity of the tissue. This allows us to plan a holistic treatment tailored to your needs. If we determine that further investigations are useful or necessary, we will refer you to a doctor or another specialist.

Depending on the symptoms, we always determine the frequency and duration of treatment individually. In principle, osteopathy is suitable for every age group. In individual cases, treatment may be contraindicated.

An adult treatment usually lasts 60 minutes, a consultation for children between 30 and 60 minutes.
